ABERDEEN, Wash. - Aberdeen High School Senior Katie Grimnes has been elected as National President of SkillsUSA. Earlier this year, she became Aberdeen High’s first ever National Officer when she was elected at the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City.

Grimnes was elected during the National Officer Training Conference in Virginia this week. She has been chapter president for Aberdeen High School the past two years and has also served in other leadership positions.

SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA. This is the first time in the organization’s 45-year history that a National President has been elected from Washington State.
