Scams and ID theft: protect yourself

Posted by kbkw on March 24, 2009 at 7:27 am (549 social interactions)

Find out about the latest scams and ask questions about your concerns. The McCleary Timberland Library offers two consumer protection programs led by Mary Gould of the Washington State Office of the Attorney General.

“Senior Scams” will be presented on Thursday, March 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Many frauds specifically target older citizens and may be carried out over the telephone, door to door or through various advertisements. Become aware and learn how to see them coming.

“Identity Theft” will be held on Thursday, April 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Participate in Ms Gould’s presentation and learn ways to protect your identity.

The McCleary Timberland Library is located at 121 S 4th Street, McCleary. For more information, please call (360) 495-3368 or go to www.TRL.org.
