Hoquiam, WA - At 6:30 pm on Thursday 10/15/09 Hoquiam police were dispatched to the YMCA, 2500 Simpson Avenue, to investigate a theft that occurred sometime between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm.
The victim, a 55 year old Hoquiam woman, told an officer that she had arrived at the Y at about 5:00 pm, parked her vehicle in the parking lot and locked her purse in the vehicle’s trunk. She entered the Y and put the keys to her vehicle in an unlocked locker. At 6:30 pm when she returned to the locker to retrieve her keys they were gone. She went out to her vehicle and found that it was unlocked and that the purse was now missing from the trunk. The purse contained all of her identification, credit cards and an unknown amount of cash. The suspect(s) had apparently used the keyless entry device to locate and enter the vehicle.
