ABERDEEN, Wash. – The Municipal Court in Aberdeen has a new judge at the beginning of the new year. Mayor Bill Simpson appointed Judge Susan Solan at last nights regular council meeting. “I’m excited about her, and the way that she conducts court. I’ve watched her quite often in court and she says the way it is and that’s the way we want it to be and I appreciate that.” Solan will replace Judge Paul Conroy, who’s term expires at the end of the year, she told the council after being sworn in last night “I’m honored to serve the city and I hope I will serve you well and you will be proud of the job that I do.”
She’s not new to the bench, Solan has served as judge pro-tem at the city’s municipal courthouse for years, her appointment was approved unanimously by the city council at last night’s meeting. Simpson said Judge Solan will officially start January 1, however she will likely be seen on the bench as judge pro-tem most of this month.
