Aberdeen council meets two candidates, Richrod and Simpson

ABERDEEN, Wash. – The Aberdeen city council last night heard from two people interested in filling the vacancy for the Ward 5 council position previously held by John Erak.
Alan Richrod again expressed his interest – he was appointed to the seat after Erak passed away, then lost to Erak in the November election. Also submitting a letter of interest was William Simpson, son of Aberdeen Mayor Bill Simpson.
If the 11-member council is split on a decision, the mayor would be the deciding vote, however council last night did not make an appointment noting the absence of Council Chair Kathy Hoder.
