No injuries as fire guts East Aberdeen home early Wednesday
ABERDEEN, Wash. – A fire gutted a single family home in East Aberdeen Wednesday morning. Battallion Chief Bill Mayne said they’ve investigated but the cause remains undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported, however a family pet did not make it out.
Mayne said the fire had spread through about a third of the home when crews arrived to several vehicles parked down the dead end driveway, which delayed their response. Crews mostly fought the fire in a defensive mode after running lines down North Chehalis street to get water to the riverside home behind Michael’s Meats. “We had limited access, and we had to wait for some people to move some cars.” Flames were visible from across the Wishkah river, Mayne said no other homes were threatened.
