Stolen vehicle used to break into Aberdeen business
ABERDEEN, Wash. – Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Deputies responding to a burglar alarm at an Aberdeen business Tuesday morning found an abandoned van high centered and crashed into the building.
A silver Toyota van, later found to be stolen from an Aberdeen woman, had been backed into the main entrance of Washington Tractor off of Highway 12, causing substantial damage to the front of the building.
Though the van was still running, it was apparently high-centered, it’s driver long gone.
The sheriff’s department K-9 unit was called in and a track was conducted. It appeared that the unknown suspect(s) fled on foot through the woods to Linkshire Drive however no suspect(s) were located.
Deputies said the registered owner of the van, an Aberdeen woman, didn’t know her van had been stolen. Aberdeen police are investigating the theft of the van. The damage to Washington Tractor is believed to be in the thousands.
Detectives with the sheriff’s department are working with Aberdeen PD on this case. GHCSO is asking anyone with information on this case to call the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department at 360-249-3711.
