ABERDEEN, Wash. – The Grays Harbor PUD is holding a drive-thru customer appreciation event from 6am-10am today in the parking lot of the PUD’s main office in Aberdeen.
It’s “Public Power Week,” PUD Commissioner Dave Timmons said this morning; “It’s to say thank you to our customers. We appreciate them, without them we wouldn’t be in business. My short time here at the PUD as commissioner I found out this is an amazing group of people who work very hard for their customers. They realize who they work for, and it’s a great thing.”
Customers this morning will receive hot coffee, donuts and a coffee mug plus information on energy efficiency.
Public Power Week is marked by many PUDs across Washington with community events thanking customers for their support.
According to the American Public Power Association (APPA), more than 2,000 consumer-owned utilities provide service to 47 million Americans on a not-for-profit basis, including public utility districts in Washington State.
PUDs in Washington that are members of the Washington PUD Association provide electrical service to more than 630,000 customers in 26 counties. These PUDs provide some of the cleanest energy at some of the lowest rates in the country.
