Crews began lifting the 150-ton gate at 6 a.m. this morning to allow pontoons to leave the basin. The first pontoon – Pontoon O – exited the casting basin around 10 a.m., and the last pontoon will leave this afternoon.
The pontoons will be inspected at the Port of Grays Harbor and will then be moored until needed for construction on Lake Washington.
An additional cycle of pontoons is due this winter from Tacoma. Full pontoon tracking details are posted online.
