Stolen camera photos help book Hoquiam car prowler

Further investigation revealed at least three separate vehicles that had been prowled in the neighborhood.

The suspect’s backpacks contained several items which were suspected to have been stolen. Inside the backpacks were an iPod, a “Silver Bullet” speaker, a blue tooth speaker, a Nintendo 3DS game and a Pentax “Shockproof” camera and a large amount of loose change.

At the time of the report officers were unable to locate possible victims of the property recovered from the backpacks. Several pictures from the Pentax camera were forwarded to KIRO 7, KOMO 4, and KING 5 news in hopes of identifying a victim.

HPD received several calls from citizens who believed they knew the owner of the camera and that she resided in the 2400 block of Pacific Avenue in Hoquiam.

HPD Detectives contacted the owner and confirmed she was a victim of an unreported vehicle prowl that had occurred sometime during the night.

The suspect was issued a Criminal Citation for Vehicle Prowl 2nd Degree and subsequently booked into the HPD jail. Charges of Possession of Stolen Property are pending and more charges may result as the investigation continues.
