No Injuries After Car Drives Into Local Jewelry Store

ABERDEEN, Wash. – A car struck the front of Kluh Jewelers in the Gateway Plaza this morning. Store owner Alex Kluh tells KBKW he was working with several employees just before 11 when “We heard this big boom, and looked out and saw this Toyota Camry up against our store, so that was kind of scary.”
Kluh guessed that the driver’s foot had slipped off the brake, although he said it was also possible that they were in a hurry to get to the store’s latest “Unclaimed Layaway” sale, which coincidently starts today.
The car apparently hopped over a small curb and drove into the decorative pillar to the left of the store’s glass-front entrance. No injuries were reported, Aberdeen police took a statement from the driver, and had not returned inquiry.
