Weatherwax Family will Highlight Museum Exhibit, Resurgence Dedication June 8th

ABERDEEN, Wash. – There’s a new exhibit coming to the Polson museum, highlighting the Weatherwax family and their contribution to the Harbor. Executive Director of the Grays Harbor Community Foundation, Jim Daily tells us “[we]” had a lot of personal effects from the Watherwax family, as a result of the estates. The Polson Museum has created an exhibit that will be opening that weekend and in fact on Saturday June 8th will be open free to the public.”
A public dedication ceremony will be held on June 8th to officially open the Weatherwax Art Project titled “Resurgence” at the new park off of Simpson Avenue “We are hoping that the public will take advantage of the dedication to see the artwork up close and hear how it developed. Then go over to the Polson Museum and see the history of the Weatherwax family.”
The artwork is made up of the giant stones recovered from a fire that destroyed the previous Aberdeen High School 11 years ago. Daily said the Weatherwax family exhibit will be at the Polson for about 9 months.
