Lynwood Man Drowns in Surf near Ocean Shores

Ocean City, WA – A Lynwood man fishing in the surf near Ocean Shores was apparently pulled off the beach by a riptide and drowned in deeper water.
Lieutenant Dave Porter with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s department tells us the E-911 center received a call around noon, that a person who had been missing was seen in the surf approximately 1/4 mile north of the Ocean City beach approach.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and State Parks officers were the first on the scene, The 74 year old was transported to Community Hospital, were he subsequently passed away.

Porter said the Grays Harbor County Coroner will notify next of kin and likely release a name on Monday.
