Westport Man Steals Purse After Dropping Off Job Application

WESTPORT, Wash. – A Westport man is believed to have stolen from a company office, right after he applied for a job there yesterday afternoon.  Officer Burger with the Wesport Police department tells us the 19 year old had just turned in his job application when he can be seen on camera grabbing a woman’s purse before leaving the business. When confronted around 10:30 last night, the man ran into Twin Harbor’s State Park. Burger said he was very cold, and thankful, when officers plucked him from chest-deep waters about an hour later. The man is well known to officers in the area, and was booked into the Grays Harbor County jail on felony theft charges.
