Cosmopolis Council Member Steps Down
COSMOPOLIS, Wash. – Mayor Vickie Raines accepted the resignation of Councilmember Karen Cox on Monday, March 18th. Raines said in a statement that citing time constraints Mrs. Cox no longer feels she can give the City the time it needs and deserves; therefore, she has chosen to step down from her position on the City Council. Mrs. Cox served on various council committees during her tenure, Auditing & Finance, Parks, Recreation & Cemetery, as well as Public Safety. Raines said “The City expresses it’s appreciation and thanks to Mrs. Cox for her years of service.
Anyone interested in being appointed to fill the remainder of the term for Position 5 on the Cosmopolis City Council may submit their letter of interest to the mayor at the following address:

All City Council positions are “At Large”, so there are no residency restrictions. The City council position pays $150 per month and the term for this position, Position 5 expires on 12/31/2013. To serve beyond that date individuals would need to file for election in June of this year.
