OLYMPIA, Wash. – An intermittent road closure has been implemented on Olympic National Forest’s Pacific Ranger District. Forest Service Road 2280 will be closed from Mile Post 0.0 to Mile Post 1.1 from now until March 9, 2013. The closure will be in effect from Monday through Friday only and the road will remain open on weekends.
This closure is necessary to ensure public safety during timber harvest operations on the Dum T timber sale. The road is narrow with limited turn around areas. There is not sufficient room for safe public access while the timber purchaser utilizes equipment that includes a loader, log decks, yarder, and skyline cables.
This closure will be lifted as soon as harvesting activities are complete and the heavy equipment has been removed. For additional information, please contact the Pacific Ranger District office in Quinault at 360-288-2525.
