High Risk Traffic Stop Draws Attention in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Wash. – Police drew some attention Friday afternoon in South Aberdeen with a high risk traffic stop to detain the husband of a 50 year old woman who said she had just been assaulted by the 51 year old.
The victim had advised 911 that she was assaulted with a knife but was refusing aid,  she also reported that the husband hit her with his fists and tried to stab her with a screwdriver. 911 advised responding officers of the suspects name and that he had left the scene in a tan Buick. The victim also reported that the suspect had broke the phone at the residence to allegedly interfere with the victim reporting the assault.
Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells us shortly after the 911 call, detective Snodgrass located the suspect’s vehicle on Clark street near Boone. Green said the suspect was taken into custody without further incident on various assault charges, noting that his shirt appeared to be stained with fresh blood during the arrest.
The suspect is a 51 year old Aberdeen male. He was arrested for Assault in the 2nd degree DV, Malicious Mischief 3rd DV, and Interfering with the report of a DV. The suspect was booked into the City of Aberdeen Jail.
