Shelton Woman Shot at Her Front Door, Suspects at Large
SHELTON, Wash. – A Shelton woman is in critical condition after being the victim of an early morning shooting north of Shelton. Sheriff’s Deputies got the call of a shooting at about 3:38 AM this morning on Tyler Lane which is located off the Jensen Road about 4 miles north of Shelton. According to investigators the female victim was awoken by two males at the door. When she opened the door she was shot. At least one other person was in the house at the time and barricaded him/herself in the rear of the house when the shots were heard.
Sheriff’s Deputies immediately responded to the scene of the shooting. When they arrived they learned that two male suspects had apparently fled on foot. The deputies immediately established a perimeter and started a ground search. The search for the suspects was suspended at about 6:00 AM. No descriptions are yet available on the two male suspects. They are believed to be armed and dangerous.
Investigators say the victim is known to the Sheriff’s Office and do not believe the shooting was a random act.
At the time immediately following the shooting, the area weather was very inclement preventing the victim from being airlifted. She was transported to St. Peters Hospital in Olympia by medics. At the time of this release the victim was listed as critical.
