Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Meyers said "We think this will be an effective program in Hoquiam and we are looking forward to making it available to more officers in the future.  At this time, the officers on bike can only go out when patrol staffing allows, or on overtime for special details.  We especially want to thank Terry at LaVouge's Bike Shop for giving the department such a great deal on bikes, service and gear!  They are one of the best-kept business secrets in the Harbor.  We are planning addition night bike patrols to target the rash of recent vehicle prowls and burglaries- especially on the Eastside."
