Estrella Family Creamery to Re-open

MONTESANO, Wash. – After a year and a half, Estrella Family Creamery will be reopening, but rather than conform to FDA demands the Farm plans to downsize.
“We’re going to be smaller, we’re only going to be selling cheese within Washington state.” Kelli Estrella tells KBKW the farm was never able to get over hurdles set in place by the Federal Drug Administration after they were forced closed in October of 2010 following positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria found in animal feces.
Kelli tells us the family is very near starting the business, and should have the raw-milk cheeses, made in Montesano, headed for store shelves within two months.
