HOQUIAM, Wash. – Rumors this morning of a pulled sponsorship at Logger’s Playday, Don Bell with the Logger’s Playday committee tells us, no Budweiser sponsorships were there to begin with “they do us some favors without a doubt, but the one thing that they did say something about was the ad on the back of the t-shirt, but it’s only a very small add. To be on the safe side I pulled it off immediately.”
However, Bell said there’s plenty of businesses lined up for that ad placement “We’ve got companies waiting in line, that cannot wait to get on the shirt, because of what it is.”
Bell said the local distributor was not involved in a call that he received from Belgium-based Inbev, Budweiser’s parent company, after the controversial “Osama Bin Loggin” t-shirt made national news. a Facebook group was formed overnight calling for a boycott of the beer maker, and stating that they had pulled sponsorship of the Hoquiam Loggers’ Playday event.
