Grays Harbor Smoking Rates Remain High
MONTESANO, Wash. – Smoking remains among one of Grays Harbor’s biggest health problems, Public Health Director Joan Brewster tells us about %21 of Grays Harbor residents still smoke “We are wanting to bring that down, it’s a tough time because our resources are giong away, it’s going to be harder to focus our efforts. But this is one that we just can’t let go.”
Brewster said the rest of the state carries about a %16 percent smoker rate. The State Department of Health is still offering free patches or gum for smokers willing to try quitting, for details call 1-800-quit-now.
