Hoquiam Man Rescued From Leaky Boat

HOQUIAM, Wash. – A man had to be rescued from his boat on the Chehalis river yesterday afternoon when his electric motor failed and the current began to push his boat up river from the 28th street boat launch just after 1pm. The Hoquiam Fire Department reports the man was unable to swim and when his boat started to take on water the Coast Guard and Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Department were contacted to assist.

Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Staurs said the 50 year old Aberdeen man was rescued in good health, a little cold.
