County-Wide Drug Treatment Program Gets The Green Light

MONTESANO, Wash. – Grays Harbor County has authorized a new drug treatment program called the Prosecutor’s Diversion Program to move forward. County Prosecutor Stu Menefee explained to the commissioners at their meeting yesterday “Some people who suffer from chemical dependencies will have an opportunity to break that dependency before they become involved in the criminal justice system.”
Menefee said this program would be the first in the state, and aims to divert people into a substance abuse program and away from . Funding for the Grays Harbor Intervention Treatment and Support Services Program was secured through a tax approved last year.
