Remains Identified, Son Arrested

South Bend, Washington – On April 1st, 2011 human remains were discovered in a heavily forested area within Pacific County. The scene was secured and investigated by the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office. The remains were examined by the King County Medical examiner’s office. The remains were identified through dental records as those of Timothy W. Moore, age 48. Timothy Moore had been listed as a missing person from the South Bend area of Pacific County since November 4th, 2010. The manner of death was determined to be caused by forced trauma to the cranium.

 

Circumstances surrounding the absence of Timothy Moore were being actively investigated since his disappearance. Investigators from the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants in relation to the disappearance of Timothy Moore over the course of the last several months relating to this case prior to the discovery of Timothy Moore’s remains.

 

Today at about 0930 hours, investigators served another search warrant upon a residence belonging to Timothy Moore in South Bend. The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Forensics Team also assisted.

 

The 16 year old son of Timothy W. Moore, was arrested without incident nearby by investigators for suspicion of murdering his father.
