City of Hoquiam Planning Commission to Hold Public Hearing
The City of Hoquiam Planning Commission will wrap up the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan update process with a Public Hearing scheduled for April 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. The Hoquiam Planning Commission invites the community to attend this important public hearing to consider the Draft Zoning Ordinance and amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.
The city recognizes that a new Comprehensive Land Use Plan and revised zoning ordinance is a much needed tool for implementing many of the recommendations received from citizens expressed during the Hometown Hoquiam workshops. Also, with substantial new development occurring on the horizon, Hoquiam needs the community to provide guidance in what they want to preserve or change regarding the physical design of our community to continue making Hoquiam such a special place to live.
The April 15th meeting wraps up the process that the Planning Commission has initiated to create an overall vision for the future development of Hoquiam. Citizens will have an opportunity to comment on the draft plan at the Public Hearing. Written comments may be submitted to the City Planner, 609 8th St., Hoquiam, WA 98550 and must be received by the City Planner no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2010. The draft is available for public review in the Public Works office at City Hall, and is also available online at www.cityofhoquiam.com/planning.php
