Arrest made after Aberdeen homeowner interrupts burglary, chases suspect, reports plate
Aberdeen Police arrested a 23 year old Aberdeen man last week for residential burglary, after a homeowner in the 100 block of East 10th street interrupted a burglary Thursday evening, chased the suspect to a getaway car, then reported the license plate.
Police Captain John Green tells us at about 5:27 P.M. Thursday, they responded to a home in the 100 block of East 10th on the report that the resident had come home and interrupted a male subject who was allegedly burglarizing the home.
It was reported that the suspect fled on foot and was chased by the home owners. The suspect then got into a white Honda car and fled the area. The home owners obtained the license plate of the fleeing car.
Officers located the car parked and unattended about 3/4 of a mile away from the victims home. The Aberdeen Police K-9 team of Steve Timmons and Titus was brought in and they conducted a track from the area of the suspects vehicle. The vehicle was impounded by the investigating officers.
At about 7:27 P.M. a suspect was located in the area of West 9th street by Aberdeen Officers. He is a 23 year old Aberdeen male. He was arrested for Residential Burglary and two unrelated Aberdeen Municipal Court arrest warrants for Malicious Mischief in the Third Degree.
The case has been assigned to an Aberdeen Detective and the investigation is continuing.
