The Friend of Those Who Want No Friends, Rich Daneker passed away at a Seattle Hospital Tuesday afternoon. The local radio legend began his 44 year career at KGHO in Hoquiam in the early 70’s, and was broadcasting up to his final years on the harbor.
His most recent home on the airwaves, Grays Harbor Radio, reports Rich started broadcasting at KXRO/KDUX, in 1982, where he most recently performed afternoon drive on KDUX and occasionally mornings on KXRO. Rich was also well known for his razor clam recipe, which is still featured on the Department of Fish and Wildlife website under Rich’s Broiled/Baked Razor Clams.

Cards of condolence can be sent to Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen, who is handling the arrangements.
