Aberdeen police seek shooting suspect
Aberdeen police are searching for a shooting suspect after finding his victim at the local hospital. Police Captain John Green tells us just before 9 P.M. Friday, they were called to the area of 2nd. and C St. on a report of shots being fired. Officers were told that residents in the area heard gun shots. They then saw numerous subjects flee the area on foot and in cars. Evidence of a gun being fired was located in the area.
On 1/31/14 at about 9:35 P.M. Aberdeen Officers received information that a 19 year old male had arrived at Grays Harbor Community Hospital with a apparent gun shot wound to his leg.
Aberdeen Officers were told by the victim that he was walking in the 800 block of E. 2nd with two other persons. He said that the suspect came out of a house and words were exchanged. The victim told the Investigating Police Officers that the suspect displayed a firearm and that he was then shot in the leg.
The suspect and victim fled the location with the victim eventually arriving at the hospital.
The suspect was identified but has not been located at this time. The investigation is continuing.
