Whew! The sky is clearing and the sunshine beginning to peak thru the clouds. The rainy drizzly weather seemed to snap everyone back into Standard Weather mode, rummaging in the bottom of the drawer for a sweater and getting the water-proof sneakers out again. Okay, the lawns got watered and the forest lands certainly needed the moisture, but let’s get back to Summer!
The Hoquiam Farmers Market is planning on many more weeks of carefree sunny days. Remember the old phrase about mid-summer;
The Dog Days of August ??? The images those words conjure! Dusty country roads, heat waves visible in the air, the kids headed for the nearest river for a swim, and the family dog oblivious to everything as he sleeps that deep, happy slumber that only a dog can achieve.

The larger restores prosecutorial staffing, and the second is for STOP Violence Against Women, both are to be spread across fiscal 09 and 2010.
Also the Drug Task Force has received an additional federal allocation amounting to 25 thousand, with 11 thousand for this year.
The letter to the board written by Budget Director Rose Elway said that the grants offset the contra entries wich funded deputy prosecutor staffing, and a legal secratary position.
