Hoquiam, WA - The city of Hoquiam's Land Use Hearing Examiner will conduct a public hearing on Westway Terminals application for a Conditional Use Permit this week.
Westway Terminal Company LLC proposes to construct four (4) new storage tanks on the site to the south of their existing bulk storage tanks to store crude oil.
Each tank would sit on a concrete slab supported by pilings driven approximately 150 feet into the ground. The tanks would also be surrounded by a concrete containment wall the containment area would have the capacity to contain the total volume of a single tank plus an allowance for precipitation.
The project would be located on leased property owned by the Port of Grays Harbor.
The new tanks would be 150 feet in diameter and 64 feet in height, the proposed height is what requires the conditional use permit, which will be considered on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the City Council Chambers.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing or submit written comments on the proposal to the City of Hoquiam, Department of Public Works, 609 8th Street, Hoquiam, Washington 98550.
