Home invasion robbery in Oakville and high speed chase not related, some suspects still at large

A home invasion robbery in Oakville was not related to a vehicle pursuit in the same area this morning. Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s department tells us before 5 this morning, two masked men kicked in the door to a residence in the 200 block of East Alder Street in Oakville and assaulted the adult male and female residents. During the altercation, it appears that the mask of one of the suspects had been removed and a possible identity obtained. The suspects fled the residence without taken anything.

At this point, investigators are on scene and working on developing suspects and determining a possible motive.

There had been a vehicle pursuit from the general area as well that was originated by Chehalis Tribal Police. GHCSO deputies became involved in that pursuit and it ended when the suspect vehicle crashed near SR 12 and Mox Chehalis Road (Malone). Three occupants had been detained from that vehicle however the driver fled on foot. A county K-9 was called in to assist with locating the driver however at this point, the suspect/detainees of this pursuit do not appear to be involved with the Oakville Robbery.

More information will be released when it is available.
