The public is invited to participate in a work party hosted by the Friends of Olympic National Park (Friends) on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center located at 3002 Mount Angeles Road in Port Angeles.
This event will focus on cleaning the area around the visitor center. Projects will include pruning, exotic plant removal, weeding, raking, and local trail maintenance.
Participants are asked to meet in the visitor center parking lot at 9:00 a.m. Some tools will be available, but participants are urged to bring their favorite hand tools and gloves.
This is the third in a series of bi-annual work sessions the Friends plan to host at the park.
“These events are designed to address park maintenance needs and provide an opportunity to bring together the Friends membership, park volunteers, and the public,” said Friends of Olympic National Park President David Morris. “We hope that as many people as possible can participate in this effort.”
Members of Friends of Olympic National Park, national park volunteers, and the general public are invited to attend both events. For additional information, please contact the Olympic National Park volunteer office at 360-565-3142.
