Courtesy: Republic Records Colbie Caillat took it all off — her makeup, that is — in the video for her latest single, “Try.” Now she wants to you to do the same.
The video for “Try” has become quite the viral sensation thanks to its powerful message about loving yourself as you are. It’s racked up more than 13 million views since it was posted about 10 days ago; even Colbie’s pal Jason Mraz tweeted that he “cried a little” when he watched it. Colbie’s now invited her fans to make their own mini “Try”-inspired clip.
She tweeted, “Join the movement! Post a Vine or Instagram video of u removing your make up and tag it with #ColbieTry so I can watch your clips.”
While it’s not being played a lot on the radio — yet — the success of the “Try” video has been enough to send the song into the Billboard Hot 100. Now that the Hot 100 chart counts video streams as part of a song’s total, it has debuted at #69, and it’s #18 on the publication’s Streaming Songs chart.
