Credit: Shervin LainezPassenger, the British singer/songwriter who gave us the smash hit “Let Her Go,” has scored a career-best debut with his new album Whispers.
The disc from the artist born Mike Rosenberg entered the Billboard 200 album chart at #12 — pretty good, considering his previous disc, All the Little Lights, never climbed higher than #26, despite featuring “Let Her Go.” Whispers has also landed Mike his best U.S. sales week ever; the disc sold 19,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Whispers, featuring the new single “Scare Away the Dark,” also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Folk Albums chart. It’s top 10 in Mike’s native U.K., as well as in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Germany.
Mike starts a North American tour August 2 in Atlanta, Georgia.
