John Paul Filo/CBSFirst, Bruno Mars was announced as the headliner of Brad Pitt’s semi-annual charity event in New Orleans. Now, word comes that he’ll also be the headliner at this year’s Robin Hood Foundation gala, which raises money to fight poverty in New York City.
According to Bloomberg News, Bruno will perform at the May 12 event at New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center. Former Daily Show correspondent John Oliver will also be part of the lineup. The co-chairs of the event include Live with Kelly & Michael host Michael Strahan and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Tickets for the event start at $3,000, which may be one reason why last year’s event raised nearly $80 million bucks. Of course, last year’s lineup also had something to do with it: it included Elton John, Paul Simon, Sting and U2’s Bono.
