CNW Group/Bell MediaMichael Buble has won a slew of Juno Awards — the Canadian version of The Grammys — for his music. Now, he’s won an award for hosting the actual Juno Awards telecast.
Over the weekend at the Canadian Screen Awards, which honor the best in Canadian movies and television, Michael was named Best Host in a Variety, Lifestyle, Reality/Competition, Performing Arts or Talk Program or Series for serving as the host of the 2013 Juno Awards.
Michael will not be hosting this year’s Juno Awards, which will be handed out March 30 in Winnipeg, but he’s heavily nominated. In fact, he’s up for he’s up for five trophies, including Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for his disc To Be Loved, and Single of the Year, for “It’s a Beautiful Day.”
It’s not clear if Michael will actually be attending, though it’s possible, since he doesn’t have any concerts scheduled around that time. His European tour wraps up this week, and then he’ll kick off a major tour of Australia at the end of April.
