Alert Pacific County Deputy Apprehends Suspect in the Act of Burglary

Bay Center, WA. –  On November 6th at about 10:30 PM, a Pacific County Sheriff’s deputy was conducting foot patrol in the area of 1st and Main streets in Bay Center. The deputy noticed a person standing directly near the back door of a residence that the deputy knew to be vacant. The deputy noticed that the person appeared to be attempting entry into the residence. The person was dressed in dark clothing and displayed a dark colored garment wrapped around their face and neck.

The suspicious activity compelled the deputy to contact the subject. The deputy announced his presence and the suspect began to speak with him. The deputy recognized the voice of the suspect and was able to identify the suspect as Marshall N. Disney, age 26 of Bay Center. The suspect also identified himself as Disney.  The deputy had knowledge that Disney had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

The deputy advised Disney that he was under arrest and attempted to take Disney into custody. Disney began to comply but then fled on foot in an attempt to get away. The deputy chased Disney on foot, giving several verbal commands for him to stop. As the deputy was chasing Disney, the deputy observed Disney reach into the front of his waistband and obtain an object. The deputy watched Disney discard the object as he ran.

Shortly after, the deputy deployed his issued Taser device upon Disney and Disney was placed under arrest. While searching Disney for any weapons, the deputy located syringes that appeared to have been used to inject narcotics. The deputy also located an empty pistol holster in the front waistband of Disney’s jeans.

Deputies searched the route that the foot chase followed and located a 25 caliber pistol in the yard of a residence directly near where the pursuing deputy observed Disney discard the object produced from his front waistband. The pistol was found to be in good condition and loaded. The pistol was later matched to the holster found in Disney’s front waistband and it fit the holster.

Disney was booked into the Pacific County Jail for Residential Burglary, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Escape and for an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant.  Disney’s bail was set at $ 100,000.00.
