Aberdeen building support for first First Friday; second ‘First’ on the Harbor

ABERDEEN, Wash. – After a successful year in Hoquiam, an Aberdeen business owner is looking to start a “First” of her own, this one would be on Fridays. Julie Rajcich, of Julie Rajcich Photography is compiling a list of local businesses and artists that would be willing to team up to stay open late on the “First Friday” of each month. She tells us she has a growing list of about 20 businesses looking forward to participating from 5 pm to 8 pm on December 6th.
The Hoquiam Business Association organized a similar event where businesses stay open late and invite local artists to show off their talents once a month, their first First Thursday was in June of 2012.
The first, First Friday, will be December 6th in Aberdeen. If you would like to get involved, contact Julie at [email protected], or stop by her new business at 109 East Wishkah street in Aberdeen.

The latest update from Julie includes a laundry list of events and participants:

We have added street musicians and a tree lighting ceremony at Zelasko Park-thanks to the City of Aberdeen. The tree lighting ceremony is at 5:30. We’ll play a little music as people arrive, we’ll say a few words about the event, the tree will be lit, maybe another song or two as people disperse to visit businesses. If the weather cooperates the City of Aberdeen will be there serving hot cocoa and cider. Santa is also coming! So he’ll be at the tree lighting ceremony and then we’re hoping he’ll walk around town for awhile.
