New mural planned for downtown Aberdeen to memorialize Kurt Cobain

ABERDEEN, Wash. – A new mural in downtown Aberdeen will commemorate Kurt Cobain, and his time spent growing up on the harbor. Art Instructor at the Grays Harbor College Erik Sandgren spoke to the council last night “I’m really excited about doing this project for the City of Aberdeen, I think if it as being for the city even though it’s on private property.”
Sandgren said the mural will be on the Wishkah street side of the Moore’s Interior building at the corner of Wishkah and Broadway streets in downtown Aberdeen.
The Nirvana front man killed himself in 1994 at his home in Seattle.
