GRPs are site-specific response plans for oil spills to water. They include response strategies tailored to a specific beach, shore, or waterway and meant to minimize impacts on sensitive areas threatened by a spill. The workshop will describe how the public can best help in the update effort, such as providing: locations of natural resources, new points of contact, changes to waterway access points (such as boat ramps and marinas), surface water supply intakes, and so on.
The workshop is scheduled to occur in advance of the planned complete update of Chapter 4 of the GRP for the Grays Harbor GRP in 2009. The meeting is intended to provide: an introduction to what GRPs are, how the update process works, and guide the public on how to best provide feedback.
