Next to Normal auditions at GHC

Auditions for “Next to Normal,” the Fall musical production at Grays Harbor College, are scheduled for 7 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday, September 18 and 19, at the Bishop Center. The Pulitzer Prize winning rock musical will be performed the first two weekends of November, directed by GHC instructor Brad Duffy.

The cast includes four men and two women. “Next to Normal” explores how a suburban housewife copes with crisis and mental illness, with book and lyrics by Brian Yockey and music by Tom Kitt. The dramatic musical shows how far two parents will go to keep their family’s world intact.

For the auditions, men should plan on signing “I Am The One,” while women will sing “Superboy” or “I Miss the Mountains.” Those trying out may also prepare 16 measures of another song as well.
