Hoquiam hunter’s death in Eastern Wash. being investigated as murder

CHESAW, Wash. – The shooting death of a a 52-year-old Hoquiam man Monday in Northeast Washington is being investigated as a homicide.
Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers says Michael Carrigan got out of the car when he spotted a grouse, he walked into a field and fired a shot, but missed. His friend said after a second shot, another shot rang out from a different direction. The friend told investigators that he saw Carrigan turn around bloodied, then fall to the ground. 

A second shot was heard as he took the man to a nearby home and called for help. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Rogers said they do have persons of interest in the investigation, but have made no arrests.
