Man apprehended after rolling Jeep, injuring passenger, on Moclips beach

MOCLIPS, Wash. – A Lake Tapps man remains in custody this morning on charges of Vehicular Assault and Hit and Run after allegedly leaving his passenger in an overturned Jeep on a beach about a mile south of Moclips Friday night.

The Washington State Patrol reports the 43 year old was apparently driving recklessly and doing donuts on the beach when he lost control of a 1979 Jeep CJ5 and flipped it on its side around 11:20 p.m. His passenger, a 43 year old Buckley man, was transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Drugs or alcohol are believed to have been involved, the accident reamins under investigation.
