Dept. of Natural Resources burn ban takes effect today

OLYMPIA, Wash. – A burn ban takes effect today on state-owned forest lands. The state DNR says it applies to all forest lands under their fire protection from July 1 through Sept. 30, and does not apply to federally owned lands.

Recreational fires in approved fire pits within designated campgrounds and the agency’s prescribed fires are still allowed, as well as gas and propane self-contained stoves and barbeques.
