Aberdeen, Port, and County to Study Rail Traffic Through East Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Wash. – The Aberdeen city council last night approved an agreement with the Port, and the County, to conduct a traffic corridor study on train traffic through Aberdeen.
Executive Director Gary Nelson explained the goals of the study to the Port Commissioners this week “We’ve looked at a couple different ideas, the purpose of this study is to try to identify what is physically possible, and then come forward with some recommendations of alternatives.”
Nelson said The Port will run lead on finding a consultant, and sharing the results of the study once completed. Each entity’s share of funding for the project will be $8,300.
