Citizens Stop and Detain Assault Suspect

ABERDEEN, Wash. – Witnesses stepped in, and were holding down a suspect when officers arrived at the Aberdeen AM/PM yesterday morning to the report of an attempted kidnapping.
Police Captain John Green tells us the 21 year old Aberdeen man was trying to escape the grasp of multiple people, who later reported that a woman was being chased by the man. When the suspect put the woman in a choke hold near the downtown gas station, Green says the citizens stepped in and pulled the suspect off of the woman.
The victim told officers that the suspect is her ex-boyfriend and had tried to pull her inside a house she was at in the 100 Block of S. Washington.
