Boat Trailer Stolen from Porter Creek Boat Launch

ELMA, Wash. – On Sunday 11/04/2012 at approximately 4:20 pm, deputies responded to a theft and malicious mischief complaint at the Porter Creek Boat Launch. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 1994 EZ Loader boat trailer had been stolen from that location sometime between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Deputies also learned that a tire had been slashed on a nearby vehicle as well. The trailer was galvanized, gray and silver in color, and had been hooked to a vehicle. The value of the trailer was approximately $8500.

There were two men in a Gray and Red colored GMC or Chevrolet Z71 pickup that had been seen in the area. One man was described as a white male in his 50’s with a buzz cut style of hair, short and husky in stature, and spoke with a raspy voice. The other man was a white male, tall and slender, wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt.
The sheriff’s department is asking anyone with information on this crime to call the department at 360-249-3711.
The sheriff’s department would also like to remind the hunting and fishing community to exercise due care and caution when parking your vehicles at boat launches or remote hunting and fishing locations. The department usually sees an influx of vehicle prowls and thefts this time of year. Suspects often focus on valuables that are visibly seen in vehicles.
