Man Turns Himself in After Spree of Fake $100 Bills Through Grays Harbor, One Other At Large

MONTESANO, Wash. – The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office has a man in custody follow a spree of fake $100 bills. Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate tells us the second week in October several of the counterfeit bills were passed at various businesses throughout the county, including businesses in Brady, Montesano, and Aberdeen.
Shumate said through video surveillance, investigators were able to identify two suspects passing the fake bills. One suspect was identified as a 54 year old male transient from Rochester. The other suspect was the male suspect’s girlfriend, a 41 year old female who was also transient. The male turned himself in to investigators Friday night and acknowledged passing the money. The female suspect is still at large, and a warrant has been requested for her arrest.
