Ocean Shores Man Admits to 15 Vehicle Prowl Incidents

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. – Police on Tuesday arrested a 26-year old Ocean Shores man for 15 vehicle prowls that occurred over the past two weeks near the south end of the city. Deputy Chief Russ Fitz tells KBKW that when Officer Shaun Beebe spotted a jacket reported stolen from one of the vehicle prowls, a suspect admitted to committing the other break-ins, and was arrested. Fitts said the suspect is working with investigators to retrieve other stolen items. The majority of items that were taken included loose change, sunglasses and other smaller value items.

All of the vehicle prowls occurred to unlocked vehicles. The Ocean Shores Police Department wants to remind everyone to not leave valuables visible within their cars and to be sure that all doors are locked and windows are rolled up. The police also ask that the public call in any suspicious persons or activity as it is occurring by calling the dispatch center at 911 and not wait until the next day or leave messages on the police department’s voicemail.
